Defiant Motors, Inc. is a family-owned business proudly serving the Hodgkins, IL community for nearly a decade. As we continue to grow and exceed client expectations, we are looking to expand our team with a skilled technician/installer.

​We are a full-service custom 4X4 and accessory shop, dedicated to helping customers build the vehicles of their dreams. We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and team-oriented individual with strong Jeep, 4X4, and off-road knowledge.

Job Description

Position: Automotive Technician / Mechanic
Compensation: $20–$30+ per hour (based on experience, certifications, and industry knowledge)
Incentives: $100 referral bonus for successful hires

 

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repairs including: engine repairs (i.e.: water pump replacement, spark plug and wires, gasket replacements, oil coolers, etc.), drivetrain/axles, suspension/steering, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and accessory installations

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Take initiative in seeking out new jobs when waiting on parts or when bays are open

• Perform other duties as assigned by management

 

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of automotive technician experience

• Personal set of automotive tools in good working order

• Ability to work overhead, lift up to 75 lbs, common knowledge of mechanics 

• Team-focused attitude

• Valid driver’s license

• Minimum of 18 years of age

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational certificate preferred

• Availability Monday–Friday (opportunity for work Saturdays), with ability to meet physical demands of shop environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certification in at least one area (A1–A8)

• Technical school certificate or degree
